3 Things to Get, and 3 Things to Give: Spring Edition
Sunshine: obvs this depends where you live, but for many of us it is about that time of year where we are craving sunshine and ready to come out of our Winter caves. There is [loads of science] behind how much we need real sunshine exposure for our body and mind to operate at their best. Put on that SPF, and step outside! Our bodies and minds need the connection to nature. At a minimum, stock up on Vitamin D gummies.
2. Healthy Nerves: So much of our stress and anxiety is rooted in our body, not only our mind. Sometimes we need a little help resetting our vagus nerve and vestibular system, and I have been using Sensate to achieve a deep sense of peace when I am frazzled or for a windows before sleep. The intelligent vibrations and sounds work to flow throughout your body, and can accelerate how quickly you get into a deep meditative state. My link gets you 10% off!
3. Happy Ears: Years after my daughter permanently borrowed my good headphones, I had not replaced them. I lightly suggested if anyone was looking for a Mother’s Day/birthday gift for me (they are on the same day this year), I was in the market for some over the ear headphones. My husband surprised me with the Bose and they are AMAZING. You can change the noise cancelling level from 1 to 10, the controls are touch gesture, and they are super comfortable. Try listening to some spatial audio or 8D music - it will blow your mind.
School clothes: If you have school age kids, now is a great time to clean out the clothes they have outgrown. Donate those old uniforms, backpacks, shoes. For many of us, we are turning the season and it is time to determine which Summer clothes still fit, and which Winter clothes gotta go. Donate here.
Patience: With the school year winding down, it is time for final exams and Summer planning. This time of the year always feels impossible with the number of family demands, alongside work, alongside getting ready for the Summer. Whether it is this mix of activities for you, or something else, remember to extend some extra patience to the people in your life. Practice here.
Vision: Oddly enough, as I am getting older, my prescription is actually improving. For the first time since I was 12, I need different glasses and contacts. I gathered up my daughter’s old glasses and my own and donated them so that others can still get value from them. If you find some spectacles during your Spring cleaning, remember to pass them along.
